Rumble Slam - KickStarter

Rumble Slam is a Fantasy Wrestling board game with fantastic looking miniatures currently on Kickstarter that I have been pretty excited about. It's past it's funding goal and unlocking stretchgoals as we speak, but I kept mentioning about the character designs and to make them look more like wrestlers by adding more wrestling type attire.

Below are te original artwork for Rumble Slam, with my tweaks done over the top of them. Just minor changes to make them either look more like wrestlers, or to make them a little different than generic wrestlers that are part of the regular teams.

Original artwork belongs to TTC.

Dragon Tides Kickstarter

So I visit Kickstarter a lot and I am always on the look out for great looking games.

One I came across was Dragon Tides, a role playing game with miniatures that was fully licensed with Bruce and Brandon Lee featuring, a long with many more exciting characters and miniatures.

The project just successfully funded and still has 16 days to go. However I thought the main image could do with an update to show off the painted minis and display a more eye-catching 'funded' sign, as well as add some description in the picture. This is what I came up with.

You can check out the Kickstarter page and compare the original image here - http://kck.st/1CVDjPV

Dog Days are Over

Ok, this is my last Lockjaw post.
I was unhappy with my previous efforts. While I did settle on one I liked, it just looked like a dog.

So after a lil inspiration, I wanted to explore Lockjaw using his teleporting powers. I never thought a standing dog would be dynamic either, but slicing him in half mid teleport, adding some Kirby Krackle, I think its much more unique at displaying the character. It can never be confused with 'just a dog' now.

And if EM want to push the budget out, they could make a back separate and then he could make a nice bookend.

Old Dog New Tricks

Edited the Lockjaw drawings during my lunchbreak, changed to a sad face and a more cheeky face since making him angry looking seemed a touch out of character, probably looked too evil.

Barking Mad

I was sort of challenged to do some designs of what a Lockjaw special would look like for the Classic Marvel Figurine Collection. I looked at images of bulldogs, figurines, and Lockjaw artwork and just mixed them all together to get different results.

Essentially I just wanted him sitting down. He isn't exactly a dynamic character and the breed of dog (I know technically he ain't a dog) doesn't lend itself greatly to dynamic poses. I felt the more dynamic it is, the more bigger the risk of it looking weird. The main selling point in this figurine is the character, basically his unique design in the face, and whatever expression you can get out of it. I also think you can get a better scale of the character in this pose as he will sit up taller than what he would be standing.

I think I sort of failed in a way because they don't really work, the majority just look like a dog. However, I did colour in my favourite (not the churchill parody) that I think worked really well which sort of combined two pieces of artwork of Lockjaw.

Null Crusher

Trying to remember to post everything I draw on dA on my blog too. This is another fusion based character. I should have just linked the dA pic to save me typing stuff up...

167 - J. Jonah Jameson

After my Pyro concept, I was asked to design a J Jonah Jameson figurine at the Classic Marvel Figurine Collection blog. My design is practically the excellent Bowen bust that pretty much summed up what was asked for of the figurine, but I took liberties on the stance and the head as well as colours.

154 - Hello Sailor!

Just playing in photoshop sketching with a different brush. Thought I would try a sort of watercolour children's book style and this character gradually turned into a sailor. Some reason photoshop didnt like me using the brush and kept crashing. I didnt save during this, so I was just screen capturing and keeping on building on top of the one layer.

146 - Roughwood

Here is an old character if mine who I came up with when I was about 8-10 and is a character I havent drawn in probably 7 years. He started off as a rip off of Street Fighter's Sagat, but at the time and my age, I thought it would be cool to give him two eye patches. He is in fact a blind boxer. Go figure.

142 - Zed Head Ned

Another random sketch. I had a dream last night and thought it may work as a cartoon. This is by no means a character design for a pitch of a show, but a simple reminder to me that I had a dream...

070 - Chris Sanders Style Challenge

Inked up a sketch that is supposed to be in the style of Lilo & Stitch creator Chris Sanders. I am happy with the drawing, just ain't happy with not really looking sanders-esque.
